LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
All of the Board Members
are still reeling at the crowd we had on Saturday, we never expected the volume
we had and I want to thank each and everyone for their patience, kindness and
stamina for sustaining us on Saturday. First, please let us welcome each
new member and returning members back to CTBRA. We are so glad you chose
our association to be a part of and we will always make every effort to keep
everyone coming back to every show. We know that Saturday was the
exception, with membership, nomination and entry forms to fill out, the lines
were long and frustrating, but with a lot of help we made it!!! Thanks so much
for being patient and Thanks so Much for the ladies in the office, the barrel
setters, the tractor driver, announcer and all the helpful members that
volunteered to help.
If you haven't
looked at the photos on the website, please do, they are really incredible and
the price is very affordable. Haven't got the website, here it is. http://alwaysaboutuphotography.com/
If you are having
a time keeping up with the new things this year at CTBRA, well guess what, so
are we. We are working diligently getting the kinks out of the forms,
entries and the bookkeeping nightmares we have created by adding the All Around
and Roll Over. So, please keep in mind that the hard working ladies that
make everything possible have full time jobs to boot. So, that usually means
they give up some ride time to do all that is required to get ready for the
barrel races. It truly is a burden of love, since they do not get paid.
Let me introduce the
work horses of the Board:
Lynn Rich,
Treasurer, Makes up the forms, copies all the forms, gets the money for the
start up of each show, makes the deposits, writes the checks, and pays out all
the paid employees. Is first there and last to leave, brings all the computers
and office equipment, and keeps Charley the Tractor man happy.
Jamie Ashford,
Secretary keeps all the notes from the Directors meeting, and is the
information highway among the Board members.
Christie Walker,
Points Chairman, Organizes the nomination, and membership forms and keeps the
points on all the classes.
Michelle Polansky,
Points Chairman, helps Christie learn the ropes and keeps up with the points
for year end.
Laurie Morse,
Awards, that is for everything, Year end and Finals
Greg Underwood,
Awards, works well with Laurie and plays well with others, by helping in the
alleyway and keeping all us ladies straight.
Jordan Walker
and Paige Polansky, Youth Directors, Helps in the office and
organizes fund raisers for the pee wee and youth classes.
Sherry May,
Editor In charge of the newsletter
Troy Ashford,
Youth Director and Sponsorship Chairman
Kelly and Spike
Weaver, Directors
Mark and Kim Goolsby, Directors
Mitzi Sunvision, Director, she is always the helping hand
at the announcer's desk.
They
all work hard throughout the day, in the office, in the alleyway, loading and unloading
poles and office equipment, getting food and drinks to Charley and the barrel
setters, calming our nerves when we get overwhelmed. We are not World
Barrel Racing and we can't afford to pay them, so the only thanks they get will
be from you. But one thing we all can say, we are just proud to work for
our members. Proud, we have such a wonderful association and proud God blessed
us, with the privilege of being a part of such a huge, competitive association.
God Bless each and everyone and Thanks Again for being a
part of

FYI:
REMEMBER WE ARE
GIVING PARTICIPATION AWARDS TO EVERYONE THAT ATTENDS A MINIMUM OF 10 SHOWS
DURING THE SEASON. YOU MUST ENTER/RUN IN A CLASS FOR IT TO COUNT. EXHIBITIONS
DO NOT COUNT. We are doing this for those who faithfully haul to all our shows
but just cannot seem to hit those elusive D's to show our appreciation for
their loyalty to our association. The Board will decide on appropriate awards
according to the amount of money towards the end of the year. Any suggestions
from the members as to these awards will be welcome.
Thanks
!
Laurie Morse, Award
Chairman
